To us, from Fundação O Boticário de Proteção à Natureza, there is a reason for pride: to gather so many people in defense of protected areas and know that this meeting generated movement, whether of ideas or practices, and that effectively changes people. And people are capable of transforming realities.

The Brazilian Congress on Protected Areas (CBUC) has shown to be an agglutinating event, for it gathers attendants and lecturers from several parts of the world. More than that, in this sixth edition it has already been consolidated as an international forum of important discussions about the matter. It also congregates organizations that come to the public to show their environmental work.

With the reoccurrence of environmental issues on the media, the need to take a position, to be heard, to take forward the belief that protected areas are the most viable way to maintain life is reinforced. Life, in the more extensive sense of the word.

There are great challenges ahead. But with each edition of CBUC we are certain that some steps were taken and that so many other ideas were reinforced for us to continue to believe in and fight for nature. Join us and participate in the VI Brazilian Congress on Protected Areas.
